Whether you're an apprentice building your foundation or an experienced HVAC/R technician looking to stay current, the AACP HVAC Skills Workshop delivers a full day of practical training, professional development, and hands-on learning.
Hosted by the Association of Air Conditioning Professionals (AACP), this one-day workshop brings together HVAC/R apprentices and technicians for a combination of general sessions, technical education, inspections and code updates, customer service and professional skills, and hands-on training.
Apprentices enrolled in the AACP Apprenticeship Program will have the opportunity to put their classroom knowledge into practice through hands-on laboratory sessions designed to reinforce essential technical skills. Experienced technicians are also welcome and will benefit from opportunities to refresh their knowledge, learn about current industry practices, and connect with fellow professionals.
Workshop highlights include:
General sessions:
- Combustion Analysis
- Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO)
- Inspection and Code Requirements
Learning Labs:
- First Year: Tools 101, Basic Heating Cycles - Sequence of Operations, Real World Math
- Second Year: Hands on Brazing, Troubleshooting Circuits, Wiring and Testing
- Third Year: Troubleshooting Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV), Blueprint Reading, Air Distribution- Ductwork
- Fourth Year: Importance of Licensing / OJT, Wiring Diagrams, Boilers and Hydronics
